Envent partnered with DEI & Associates and 1000 Islands Mechanical to deliver an innovative net zero HVAC solution for the Mohawk Long-Term Care facility. The system was developed to meet the rigorous demands of a healthcare environment while prioritizing sustainability, energy recovery, and occupant comfort. O'Dell HVAC Group supported the project as the local manufacturer representative, ensuring smooth coordination from design through delivery.

Project Scope

This long-term care project required a next-generation HVAC system capable of achieving net zero performance while maintaining strict indoor air quality standards. Envent provided a centralized air handling unit (AHU) that integrated LG VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) technology, a BPE high-efficiency heat recovery core, and Neptronic humidification—all factory-installed for a compact, streamlined solution. The AHU featured single-point power, further simplifying the installation process and reducing on-site complexity. DEI & Associates specified this forward-thinking system to align with energy goals, while 1000 Islands Mechanical ensured proper integration with building systems.

Challenges & Solutions

Healthcare applications demand consistent air quality, humidity control, and energy performance. Envent’s factory-integrated solution addressed these challenges while supporting Mohawk LTC’s commitment to sustainability.

System Highlights:

  • Central AHU with LG VRF technology, factory-installed with single-point power

  • BPE high-efficiency heat recovery core with 0% exhaust air transfer

  • Integrated Neptronic humidifiers for year-round humidity control

  • Designed to meet stringent healthcare codes for long-term care facilities

  • Local support and coordination provided by O'Dell HVAC Group

Results

The installed system delivers outstanding energy efficiency, air quality, and comfort—all within a fully integrated net zero HVAC package. With minimal exhaust air transmission and advanced humidity and heat recovery technologies, Mohawk LTC has achieved a new standard in sustainable healthcare HVAC.

Key Outcomes:

  • Net zero-ready HVAC system tailored for healthcare and LTC environments

  • Enhanced indoor air quality and climate stability for resident well-being

  • Significant operational cost savings through energy-efficient technologies

  • Strong collaboration between Envent, DEI & Associates, 1000 Islands Mechanical, and O'Dell HVAC Group
